The NFL Week 9 calendar includes a matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, November 5th, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins suffered an Achilles tear and will be out the remainder of the season, so it was an expensive victory. On Sunday the Falcons fell 28-23 on the road against the Tennessee Titans. In his NFL debut, Atlanta let Titans quarterback Will Levis toss four touchdown touchdowns.
With Kirk Cousins sidelined for the whole season, the Minnesota Vikings are moving up at the quarterback position. Josh Dobbs is being traded by the Vikings from Arizona. The action was taken after the Cardinals declared that Clayton Tune, a 5th-round rookie, will start at QB for the squad this coming Saturday versus the Cleveland Browns. Dobbs may get the opportunity of making his Minnesota debut when the Vikings take on the Atlanta Falcons. Dobbs started every match for Arizona this campaign after being traded by the Cleveland Browns to the Cardinals shortly before the season began. Through 8 contests, he has successfully completed 64.8% of his throws for 1,569 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. In spite of adding Josh Dobbs to their roster on Tuesday’s last-minute deal with the Cardinals, head coach Kevin O’Connell stated that the Vikings will start rookie QB Jaren Hall this weekend when they play the Falcons.
There may be a quarterback controversy involving the Atlanta Falcons as well. Taylor Heinicke replaced Desmond Ridder, who had a concussion during Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans, and impressed, possibly leading to a quarterback switch. After the match, coach Arthur Smith informed the media that Ridder’s absence from the field wasn’t due to his play, but despite passing concussion protocol, he never returned.
