In Week 9, the Chicago Bears (2-6) will try to recover from a dismal performance on Sunday Night Football when they play the New Orleans Saints (4-4). This contest will take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
The Chicago Bears (3-4) suffered a humiliating 30-13 defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers (3-4), who led 24-7 at the half and effectively ended the game. Not as seamless as his first NFL debut, rookie Tyson Bagent’s second one included struggles on both the offensive and defensive ends. However, head coach Matt Eberflus’ squad was not prepared for the game once more. After a humiliating loss in prime time in Week 8, Chicago is returning to the road and will attempt to win again. There will be a minimum of an additional week until Justin Fields returns. Matt Eberflus, the head coach of the Bears, stated on Monday that Fields is still “week-to-week” and won’t play on Sunday versus the New Orleans Saints. Fields is “improving,” but Eberflus said he needs more time to heal from his dislocated right thumb.
In Week 8, the Saints overcame the Indianapolis Colts 38-27. Derek Carr, the veteran quarterback, had maybe his best game in New Orleans, passing for two touchdowns and 310 yards in the victory. Alvin Kamara, a rushing back, amassed 110 yards overall and a pair of touchdowns. As the Saints defeated Indianapolis, they have now won 5 straight times. So far, the Saints have shown that they have a formidable defense, but with Carr apparently healthy and Kamara returning in the saddle, their offense is suddenly beginning to click. Rashid Shaheed is crucial to the Saints’ offensive line, which is why they were able to produce a few big plays over the Colts last week. With just 3 receptions this past week, he managed 153 yards as well as a touchdown, an incredible 20.8 yards per reception on average. TE Jimmy Graham and OT James Hurst look to be questionable for this match.
