United then lost 2-0 to Tottenham in North London, but they came back to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 in their most recent match.
Arsenal has a lot riding on this season after coming so close last time. They were the league leaders for most of the season before finally falling to Man City in the playoffs. There is a lot of interest in Mikel Arteta’s squad this season. Is it possible for them to repeat as league champions this season, or was last year’s success merely a fluke by an otherwise underachieving team?
Arsenal has seven points out of a possible nine heading into their home encounter against Man United. They started off strong with two wins, but were held to a tie in their most recent match, allowing Man City’s perfect record to remain intact. Arsenal’s point total is tied with four other teams, so a victory on Sunday will propel them back into the race. Last time out, they played Fulham to a 2-2 draw after previously defeating Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace.
