This weekend will see influencers KSI and Tommy Fury meet for the Misfits & DAZN: X Series cruiserweight title fight, drawing widespread media coverage. At first advertised as an exhibition match, two Brits will fight each other at Manchester’s AO Arena for what will now be considered an official professional bout. They are set to go head to head and the victor will earn themselves an inaugural cruiserweight title awarded by this promotion.
A lengthy history of boxers and bare-knuckle fighters precedes Tommy Fury. He first strapped on a set of gloves when he was young, and as of now, he has competed in 9 professional fights. In his debut professional match, Fury defeated Jevgenijs Andrejevs in 2018 on points. From then, he embarked on a four-match winning streak by KO/TKO.
On February 26, 2023, Tommy Fury faced Jake Paul in a boxing ring in his latest fight. Considered as the top crossover celebrity right now, Fury was facing off against an influencer for the first time. Prior to the fight, Fury was carrying the burden of boxing on his back because his partner Molly Mae had recently given birth to the couple’s first kid. Despite a few nerve-racking moments, Fury triumphed and gave Jake Paul his first defeat.

KSI has never suffered a boxing ring defeat, despite the argument. For someone whose career began with video games, that achievement is remarkable. He has only once gone close to battling someone with experience, and we just discussed how that one ended. Therefore, even while we can’t fault what KSI has accomplished in the influencer boxing arena, he still needs to establish his professional credentials.
