Emanuel Navarrete will defend his WBO junior lightweight title against Robson Conceicao on November 16th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as part of a Top Rank on ESPN doubleheader event. This fight marks Navarrete’s third championship during an incredible 2023 campaign that has already seen him become champion in super-bantamweight, featherweight and now junior lightweight divisions. Even with that setback behind him, Conceicao remains an exceptional fighter capable of dominating top opponents; hopefully his one-sided loss against Stevenson can be left behind him when facing Navarrete for world title consideration.
Conceicao attempted 576 punches but only managed to land 141, and his lack of accuracy hurt him significantly in an otherwise close fight that should have gone to Conceicao’s favor. With enough accuracy improvements, Conceicao has the potential to become world champion at this level; he simply needs to gain more precision if he hopes to unseat Navarrete.
This fight could go either way, with Navarrete likely holding an edge due to his aggressive style – making him an obvious favorite in this contest. His aggressive style fits well for title bouts, making it hard for him to lose this one.
