Fight Preview

This Saturday, March 4th, when he fights Mexican fighter Jose Armando Resendiz, former IBF, IBO, and WBA Jr. Middleweight Champion Jarrett Hurd of Maryland, USA, will return to the ring for the first time in nearly two years. Hurd was knocked out in the ninth round of his final fight, which Luis Arias won in a 10-round split decision. Resendiz last competed in October, defeating Heber Rondon in round two.

The 32-year-old Hurd defeated Tony Harrison in the ninth round to win the vacant IBF Junior Middleweight title in February 2017. Eight months later, when Austin Trout was unable to return for the 11th round, Hurd successfully defended the title against Trout. Hurd defeated Erislandy Lara in April 2018 by split decision to win the IBO and WBA belts. He then successfully defended all of his titles against Jason Welborn in December 2018 by fourth-round knockout before facing Julian Williams and losing the bout by unanimous decision.

Hurd allegedly had a 32-8 record as an amateur before turning pro in 2012, and he has since played in 146 rounds. He has defeated opponents including Francisco Santana, Lara, Harrison, Trout, Ioan Dan Ion, Oscar Molina, Frank Galarza, and Eric Mitchell. He is a former three-time Golden Gloves winner in Washington, D.C. Hurd now boasts a 61.5% knockout ratio, decent power, and an aggressive fighting style to his advantage.

Let’s check the latest picks, Boxing news, stats and Boxing expert picks for Jarrett Hurd vs Armando Resendiz. We’ve plenty of Boxing predictions for you to consider.

Resendiz has boxed 66 rounds since making his professional debut in 2018. He is only 24 years old. He enters the arena carrying a super middleweight fighting record of 13-1 with 9 knockouts. He gives up two inches in height and nine inches in reach to Hurd because he is 5-feet-10-inches tall and has a 69-inch reach. In September 2021, he suffered his lone loss as a professional, a unanimous 10-round decision loss to Marcos Hernandez, who dropped him in the second round.

Resendiz’s knockout ratio currently stands at 64.3%, suggesting that he possesses enough power to inflict some harm. Yet, just six of his 14 opponents came into the ring with a winning record, so his caliber of competition hasn’t been the best. Against opponents like Heber Rondon, Quilisto Madera, Michel Rosales Hernandez, and Jaime Hernandez Lopez, Resendiz has had some of his biggest victories.
