On Saturday, Jason Moloney of Australia and Vincent Astrolabio of the Philippines will fight for the vacant WBO Bantamweight Title. In October, Moloney boxed Nawaphon Kaikanha and won a unanimous decision after 12 rounds. In December, Astrolabio won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Bantamweight Belt by knocking out Nikoloai Potapov in the sixth round.
Moloney, who is 32 years old, has a record of 25-2 with 19 knockout victories. Before losing to Naoya Inoue in the seventh round of their bout for the WBA Super World and IBF Bantamweight Titles in October of 2020, he was defeated by IBF World Champion Emmanuel Rodriguez of Puerto Rico via split decision in October of 2018. Following his amateur career, Moloney turned pro in 2014 and has already boxed 150 rounds.
In 2017, Moloney picked up the vacant Oriental and Pacific WBA Silver Super Bantamweight Title. In 2018, he won the vacant British Commonwealth Bantamweight Title. In August 2021, he beat Joshua Greer Jr. by unanimous decision to win the vacant WBC Silver Bantamweight Belt.
