Rolando Romero vs Isaac Cruz Fight Preview

On March 30, in the co-feature of the Premier Boxing Champions pay-per-view program that features Tim Tszyu-Sebastian Fundora as the main attraction, Cruz and Romero will compete for the junior welterweight belt. Keep reading this article to get the best boxing analysis available.

Rolando Romero Analysis: Strong experienced fighter

Rolando began practicing martial arts at the age of 9, but you might be surprised to learn that he didn’t start boxing until he was eighteen. Even though his father was a professional boxer, he trained in judo prior to it. He knew boxing would be his career as soon as he made the move, and 2 years later he made his professional debut. After 8 years, Romero has won fifteen of his sixteen professional bouts, thirteen of which were by knockout. In 2020, Rolando’s career took a major turn as he faced Jackson Martinez for the vacant WBA interim lightweight title. It was a unanimous judgment in his favor. He defeated Anthony Yigit and Avery Sparrow in the seventh round of his next two fights, both of which he won via knockout.

Isaac Cruz Analysis: Coming off some big wins

After an intense close battle, Isaac prevailed over Thomas Matthies by majority decision in his first true challenge. Diego Magdaleno was his next opponent, and he defeated him in the first round. With this performance, he became one of boxing’s brightest prospects. To go to his first world title match of the career, he then defeated Francisco Vargas and Jose Matias Romero. Cruz lost to Gervonta Davis, just like Rolando Romero did, and it wasn’t even a close contest. But after that, he took charge and won 3 straight fights, defeating Yuriorkis Gamboa, Eduardo Ramirez, and Giovanni Gabrega to claim the WBO Latino lightweight, WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight, and WBC Silver Lightweight belts.
