Vargas vs Ball Fight Preview

Rey Vargas of WBC featherweight champion will defend his crown against British challenger Nick Ball of Great Britain at Kingdom Arena on Friday evening. Vargas will face a daunting challenge from Ball’s unique style on Friday night in order to retain his WBC championship belt. Follow this article to get more boxing analysis.

Rey Vargas Analysis: He has a very strong jab

Rey Vargas has held onto his WBC featherweight title since defeating Mark Magsayo by split decision back in July 2022. Since then he lost once against O’Shaquie Foster. To date he’s made 37 fights as a professional fighter – winning 36 of them and dropping only 1. Vargas is a power puncher who leverages his height and reach to great effect, landing powerful shots quickly with surprising velocity that often take opponents by surprise as they try to counter his assaults. Furthermore, his left hook can deliver knockout blows if desired. Vargas uses his jab as his go-to weapon to keep opponents at a distance and set up combinations, while Ball is a more aggressive fighter who’s not afraid to take risks and rush in at his opponents.

Nick Ball Analysis: Trying to stay undefeated

Ball has been compared to Mike Tyson due to his diminutive stature and explosiveness inside the squared circle. Ball can gain an advantage by getting close and throwing clusters of punches. Nick Ball is an uncompromising, hard-hitting young champion with all the traits necessary for world title contention. After an emphatic six-round victory against Isaac Lowe at Wembley Stadium, Ball dominated much taller Nathaniel Kakololo. Ball thinks that beating Vargas will put him in a position to face the winners of those fights in unification bouts. Ball, who is only 5’2″, has risen to prominence. After beating Isaac Lowe he has won 4 bouts against strong opponents.
