It’s unlikely that Real Madrid will finish more than 10 points behind Barcelona in the Spanish league again in 2023–24; Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, will be confident in their chances of mounting a serious title run.
After opening the season with a scoreless draw against Barcelona, Getafe lost their next encounter, 3-0, on the road against Girona. The Deep Blue Ones got back on track in their most recent match, a 1-0 win over Alaves on Monday night thanks to a late penalty from Borja Mayoral.
Getafe are now 11th in the league with four points after a strong start, and they recently defeated Real Madrid 1-0 in a home match in January 2022. This summer, Bordalas’s squad has been active in the transfer market, bringing in seven new players while losing several key players in Jaime Seoane, Sergi Altimira, and Munir El Haddadi.
Los Blancos last three league matches against Getafe have all been won by the score of 1-0, and Jose Bordalas’s squad has already held Barcelona to a scoreless draw this season. If Getafe can take advantage of Real Madrid’s injury situation this weekend, they might be able to pull something off.
