Two of the bottom-tiered but still very competitive teams in the NL West division will be locking horns in a three-game weekend series in the desert as the Arizona Diamondbacks who are carrying a very positive four-game win streak will be looking to continue on their good feels as they welcome the Colorado Rockies who themselves are riding on a comfortable 2-game winning streak in the hopes of making it three today.
In a matchup where we have a team with very good pitching but poor hitting, Arizona, and a team with super hitting, but lackluster pitching, Colorado, it will be up to RHP Merrill Kelly for the D-Backs and RHP Chad Kuhl for the Rockies to try and score the first win in this divisional series.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are more than ready to be over .500 with a win today against Colorado. For the Rockies, the time to start turning their road record around should start right now, and who better to lead the charge than pitcher Chad Kuhl who will be looking to score his fourth win of the season, all while still haven’t had lost a game yet. The Rockies need wins and especially if they are against divisional rivals like Arizona, which is exactly the reason why Colorado’s offense needs to bring it today, tomorrow and Sunday, but for now, let’s focus on today.
Being 1.5 games behind San Diego for the 2nd spot in the NL West should be enough of a push to go and win not just today’s game but the series itself because if it all works out, Colorado could start next week as 2nd place in their division and that does not sound bad at all.
