There is no questioning the Braves in regards to talent, hunger and all-around baseball IQ to win big, but it feels like they need a wake up call sooner rather than later in order to get the ball truly rolling in the ever-fought NL. This is why a win today, which would make two in a row, on the road against one of the best teams in baseball could become a pivotal marching point moving forward.
For the Dodgers, the season is going almost as well as they would want it to go. Their 8-3 record stands as one of the best in MLB and their roster is stacked from anywhere you see it. Last night’s loss against the Braves did prove though that even if you have the best players in each position, that doesn’t automatically translate to wins day in and day out.
The Dodgers offense, one of the most feared units in the league, was completely shut down yesterday, which is something that other contending teams such as the Mets for example take notice of, could end up hurting them in the long run. But then again, when you have a batting order with Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Trae Turner and Cody Bellinger amongst others, which also can double down as a very strong defensive unit, winning is not as hard of a task to achieve.
