If baseball fans recall the beginning of last season, then they probably remember how good the Dodgers vs. Padres series were, especially considering that they met for seven games in the span of the first month of the season. Game Preview
If you look at the Padres last season, they were one of the most entertaining teams in all of professional baseball. Between the level of passion they brought into each game, the amount of swag with which they carried themselves and their all-around feel good energy on the field, they became one of the hottest tickets in town.

For San Diego, all the pieces are there for making up a championship-caliber team, except maybe for Fernando Tatis Jr. who is still sidelined because of an injury, although reports have shown that he is well on his way to recover. But even without Tatis Jr. the Padres have enough offensive firepower to go around.
It will be up to RHP Nick Martinez to get the job done on the mound against an always strong and dangerous Dodgers batting lineup. The task at hand is simple to understand for Martinez. If he has a good night, his offense will surely make sure he gets the back up needed to score his second win of the season.
The Dodgers will be looking to continue on their strong ways this season, which has them as sole leaders in the NL West division, and get a winning streak going after dispatching the Braves last night at home in Dodger Stadium.
Newly acquired 1B Freddie Freeman appears to have settled very well into being a Dodger, and if you add what players like Trae Turner, Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts and company can do, then start pitcher Juan Urias will definitely have a very good backup band to follow what could end up being his 2nd win of the season tonight.
