His recent game against the Angels marked the end of a streak of four in which he had ten or more strikeouts. Recently, the Pirates have struggled at the plate, with a somewhat higher strikeout percentage than usual, which means that Strider heads into this one fully confident.
After a promising start to the season, Strider settled into a 4.01 ERA in May, a 5.46 ERA in June, and a 3.73 ERA in July. Strider throws his fastball 59.2 percent of the time this season, making it his go-to pitch. The Pirates’ chances of winning the game depend on their ability to hit the fastball.
Now if we take a look at the Pirates’ pitcher, Osvaldo Bido has not fared well this year. His WHIP is 1.52, and his ERA is over 5. The offensive prowess of the Atlanta Braves is among the best in the league. They lead the league in home runs, slugging percentage, and scoring, so Bido is definitely going to have a hard time against Atlanta.
