In the first of a three-game set, the Arizona Diamondbacks will visit Coors Field to take on the Colorado Rockies. The Diamondbacks are now up 6-1 on the season against the Rockies. Since the trade deadline, they have struggled mightily, falling to.500 and 2.5 games short of a wild card place.

The Rockies will be shorthanded at the plate without C.J. Cron and Randal Grichuk, who both played against the Diamondbacks. With only 42 strikeouts in 59 2/3 innings pitched, the Rockies’ pitching staff is surrendering nearly seven earned runs per game.
If the Rockies want to win, they’ll need to get on the board. Since Flexen has been struggling this year, he will likely allow some runs. Colorado must score some runs if they want to win. The Rockies have been doing well at the plate against the Diamondbacks, as was previously reported. McMahon is going to be a huge factor in this contest.
