On Monday July 3rd in New York, a 4-game series between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees gets underway. Both of these organizations, which are currently pursuing the Tampa Bay Rays, are in 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the AL East.

Without Aaron Judge in the center of the lineup, the New York Yankees have discovered a way to prevail. The Yankees are only 16-18 overall and 11-12 since Judge’s latest foot ailment sent him on the Injury List. The Yankees, on the other hand, are currently finding their groove after going 7-3 in their past 10 matches coming into Sunday’s series showdown against the Cardinals in St. Louis.
Following his historical perfect game versus Oakland this past Wednesday, the Yankees will turn to right-hander Domingo German on Monday evening. German has made 15 starts this year, going 5-5 with a 4.54 ERA and 5 solid outings. This year, in 81.1 innings, he has given up 60 hits. German’s WHIP is a respectable 1.05. He is sporting a K/9 rate of 8.6.
