January 19, 2023

Game Preview

The Brooklyn Nets go on the road to face the Phoenix Suns at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Both teams come with a three-game losing streak and are now clashing to see whose streak will come to an end, making this an exciting game.
The Suns come from a loss against Memphis 136-106 where they played a decent first quarter, closing with an advantage of 11 points. Unfortunately that did not last, Phoenix was unable to close out the game.
Mikal Bridges led the offense with 21 points and seven assists but it wasn’t enough for the Suns to take the victory.
The Suns are ranked 20th in scoring with an average of 112,6 points per game and they are ranked 10th in scoring defense with 112,2 points allowed per game this season. Devin Booker led the team with 27 points and five assists followed by Cameron Johnson (13) and Mikal Bridges (15). It’s important to note that Johnson was out in their match against Portland so due take that into account in your handicapping. We will not be able to see Booker in action until the end of the month due to a groin injury.
On the other hand, Brooklyn’s most recent loss was against San Antonio 106-98 where they could not count on their two top players. The Nets come into this game ranked 16th in scoring, with an average of 113,5 points per game, and ranked 5th in scoring defense by allowing 110,5 points per game.
Kevin Durant led the team with 29,7 points per game, followed by Kyrie Irving with another 25.  With these two players as questionable tonight, it will come down to Claxton and O’Neale to prove their worth.
Both teams are dealing with serious injury troubles so we will not be able to see the full potential of both teams in the absence of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
