This Monday, January 9, the Boston Celtics will welcome the Chicago Bulls for another Eastern Conference showdown. The game is scheduled for 19:40 at the TD Garden.
Our hosts come into this game after two wins, first against Dallas 124-95 and then against San Antonio 121-116.
On the other hand, the Bulls will try to get their fourth consecutive victory, will they get it or will the Celtics stop them?
The Celtics come in ranked No. 1 in the Eastern Conference but have lost two of their first three games against Chicago.
The Celtics offense averages 118 points per game and is led by Jayson Tatum and his 30.8 points per game, followed by Jaylen Brown with 27.0, Malcolm Brogdon with 13.5, Marcus Smart and Derrick White also contribute double digits.
While the defense is only allowing 113 points per game, they will need to keep that up in order to beat the Bulls.
On the other hand, the Bulls are coming off three straight wins over Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Utah but now face the No. 1 team in the conference.
The Bulls should be confident that the last time they met they managed to end the Celtics’ nine-game winning streak.
Their offense manages to score 115 points per game and is led by DeMar DeRozan with his 26.4 points per game, followed by Zach LaVine 23.3 and Nikola Vucevic with 16.8.
They have good shooters but will this be enough to penetrate the Celtics solid defense?
It would be easy to say that the Celtics will win this game because they are #1 in the conference, but the Bulls are playing very well lately and are 3-0 in their record against the Celtics. On top of that Zach Lavine returns to the court after surgery which will be a nice upgrade to the Bulls roster.
I’m going with Chicago.
