The Orlando Magic will be aiming to come back from their disappointing loss to the Lakers when they lock horns with the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. The Magic had their two-game winning streak snapped yesterday, as the Lakers made their way to a 129-110 victory. Meanwhile, the Pistons head into this one on a six-game skid following an OT defeat to the Clippers on Monday.
After managing to cover the spread in nine games back-to-back and coming out on top in eight of those nine outright, the Orlando Magic ended up falling on Tuesday night, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers 129-110 as the underdogs. The Lakers outshot Orlando 54% to 50% from the floor and made seven more three-point shots than the Magic on 17 extra attempts.
What Orlando did against the Lakers was a group-effort, as there were six players that reached double-figures with Markelle Fultz leading the team with 16 points. Meanwhile, Rookie Paolo Banchero, who leads Orlando with 21.1 PPG this season so far, had some floor trouble against the Lakers and closed up the game with only four points and five rebounds in 22 minutes of action.
On the other side of this matchup, the Detroit Pistons are a whopping 20 games below a positive record, though they are 16-17-3 against the spread this season so far. The Pistons are on a six-game losing streak, which includes failing to cover in their last four games, after being taken down by the Clippers 142-131 in OT on Monday.
Unfortunately for Detroit, the Clippers had a much better performance when it came to taking shots, as they outshot the Pistons 54% to 44% from the floor and made three more from the three-point line on 10 long-range attempts. For Detroit, Bojan Bogdanovic led the way with 23 points in the defeat, while Isaiah Stewart contributed with 21 points, and all eight Pistons who scored had at least 12 points.
