Game Preview

 

Conference championship weekend lies ahead of us, and no matchup appears more lopsided in theory than the Michigan Wolverines versus Iowa Hawkeyes Big Ten Championship match. When these two teams faced off for the Big Ten Championship contest back in 2021, Iowa supporters won’t be too fond of the outcome. They were defeated by Michigan 42-3 in the end. In their previous season encounter, Iowa was the more competitive team, but they ultimately lost 27-13.

 

The Michigan Wolverines enter the conference championship on 12-0 after defeating Ohio State 30-24 the previous game in an attempt to make the NCAA football playoffs. J.J. McCarthy tops the Wolverines in running with 976 yards and 22 touchdowns, followed by Donovan Edwards with 354 yards as well as three scores. McCarthy has completed 74.3% of his passes for 2,483 yards, nineteen touchdowns, and 4 picks. Colston Loveland owns 550 yards of reception and four touchdowns, Roman Wilson has 40 catches for 648 yards of reception along with 11 touchdowns, and Cornelius Johnson possesses 503 receiving yards to pace Michigan. In terms of defense, Mike Sainristil leads the squad with five picks, while Junior Colson leads with 71 total tackles. Josaiah Stewart owns 4.5 sacks on the season, and Jaylen Harrell leads the team with 5.5 sacks.

 

 

With their 10-2 record and their fourth consecutive victory in a 13-10 victory against Nebraska to end the season, the Iowa Hawkeyes secured their place for the Big Ten title contest. Leshon Williams leads the squad in rushing yards with 779, and Kaleb Johnson possesses 415 yards and three touchdowns. Deacon Hill has completed 48.3% of his passes for 976 yards, five touchdowns, and six picks. Nico Ragaini has 227 yards from receptions this year, and Erick Ali owns 299 receiving yards along with three touchdowns. In terms of defense, Sebastian Castro has three interceptions on the campaign, Joe Evans boasts 5.5 sacks, and Jay Higgins leads the club with 141 total tackles.
