After beating Rhode Island by seven points in week one, the Georgia State Panthers will remain at home for week two. Georgia State’s defense struggled greatly, allowing Rhode Island to score 35 points on 520 total yards, but the Panthers won because they forced two turnovers and kept the Rams scoreless in the first quarter. Georgia State’s offense was spectacular, racking up 42 points (21 in each half) and over 420 yards.

 

Darren Grainger had a passing and rushing total of 193 yards and two touchdowns on 16 of 20 passing and 12 of 20 rushing, respectively. Marcus Carroll rushed the ball 23 times for 184 yards and three touchdowns, making him the game’s leading rusher. Talique Williams had 52 yards and a touchdown on just two receptions, and Robert Lewis had 97 yards and a touchdown on seven catches.
