Game Preview

On Sunday, the Tennessee Titans will travel to take on the Cleveland Browns in a Week 3 NFL matchup. Both teams have split their first two games.

After losing by one point to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, the Titans bounced back with a three-point victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2. Cleveland has faced up against two teams from the same division. The Steelers defeated them 26-22 on the road on Monday Night Football after they allowed just a field goal in their season opening win against the Bengals.

The Tennessee Titans have played in many nail-biting contests. The Titans’ Week 1 and Week 2 games were both decided by a single point. The Volunteers should find plenty of games this year where the final score is within a touchdown of 40. They average 21 points each game while allowing only 20. Nick Folk’s field goal in overtime on Sunday was the game-winner.

Derrick Henry and DeAndre Hopkins, both seasoned veterans, have carried the load for the offense. While none has record-breaking popularity, they both serve as important focus points nonetheless. The likelihood of them winning NFL MVP is low.

Henry checks his NFL player stats and discovers that he is gaining 71.5 yards on the ground each game, while Hopkins is only averaging 52.5 yards as a receiver. While Hopkins has yet to score, Henry has already done so. When Derrick Henry plays well, the Tennessee Titans have a far better chance of winning.

After their thrashing of Cincinnati, the Cleveland Browns thought they had a good shot at claiming victory in Pittsburgh for the first time since 2003. The Steelers scored two touchdowns off of Cleveland turnovers, and the Browns ended up losing 26-22.

If the NFL injury report is any indication, Nick Chubb will miss the remainder of the 2023 campaign. After two games, the runner had 170 yards on the ground. Now, the Browns will rely on Jerome Ford to carry the ball early on.

With 202 rushing yards per game, Cleveland’s NFL Team Stats offense is first in the NFL through two games. Without their workhorse running back, who has sustained the Cleveland Browns offense for years, games will seem quite different.
