Game Preview

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Chargers and the Minnesota Vikings will meet in a matchup of winless teams. Both of these teams are now ranked at the bottom in the NFL standings.

Two of the games the Los Angeles Chargers have lost have been decided by a total of five points. After losing 36–34 to the Dolphins, the Chargers went to overtime before losing 27–24 against the Titans of Tennessee. It’s not much better for the Vikings. Two of Minnesota’s defeats have come by a combined nine points. Both squads are frustrated that they aren’t 2-0 instead of staring at a 0-3 record.

Despite Justin Herbert’s passing for over 530 yards and three scores without an interception, his team is winless this season. The signaler will be quite disappointed.

On Sunday, Keenan Allen had two touchdown catches, but the team still lost. Due to an injury, the Chargers were without Austin Ekeler, their best rushing back. Ekeler rushed for over 115 yards in the loss to the Dolphins.

Joshua Kelley started at running back in Sunday’s game. Through two games, he is averaging 65 yards for the Chargers. According to the numbers, the Chargers’ defense is where they need the most work. The Los Angeles Lakers have a 31.5 point margin of surrender. The Los Angeles Chargers’ injury report coming into Week 3 is sure to be interesting.

Minnesota had a great opportunity to beat Philadelphia, but they were unable to force the Eagles offense off the field. Philadelphia defeated them by a score of 34 to 14. The Vikings’ rate of turnovers is extremely high. The Vikings have only turned the ball over once despite Kirk Cousins’ passing, but they have lost four fumbles. The Vikings’ Justin Jefferson and company were denied a touchdown by one that was made in their own end zone.

With regards to Jefferson. Statistically speaking, he is still one of the best receivers in the NFL. The former LSU great currently has 20 receptions for 309 yards. K.J. Osborn and Jordan Addison each have one, and T.J. Hockenson and him each have two. Despite averaging only 31 yards per game, Alexander Mattison leads the team in rushing.
