Baker Mayfield will have to push through an Atlanta offense in an attempt to regain some sort of momentum and this proves to be a good opportunity. Most of Atlanta’s defense averages 1.5 sacks per game while Tampa Bay boasts more competitive numbers featuring Tryon Joe with 3 and Vea Vita with 3.5.
The Falcons come from a loss against the Commanders who are ranked a single position above them in the NFC at the moment. For the Falcons it’s all about climbing up the standings and becoming much more competitive with the upper echelon of the NFL. Tampa Bay may not be part of that elite as of now, but it’s a good stepping stone for Atlanta right now. 2 out of the 3 losses Atlanta has received this season have been some sort of blowout, that being their 6-20 loss against the Lions and their 7-23 loss against the Jaguars. The defense will need to pick it up in order to allow Ridder more time in the field and see if he can keep up with Baker Mayfield in an aggressive-centric game.
