The Cowboys are set to face the reigning AFC Champions in the Cincinnati Bengals. The only good news for them is that they get to play the Bengals at home in AT&T Stadium and Joe Burrow and his guys didn’t look all that great against a subpar Pittsburgh Steelers team.
Week 1 was an absolute disaster for the Dallas Cowboys. The team couldn’t score a touchdown and lost their quarterback, starting left guard, and starting safety for multiple weeks. It would be nice to get a freebie of sorts in Week 2, but that’s not even close to the case.
When it comes to the Cowboys, they lost Sunday to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19-3. The Dallas offense was held to just 244 total yards. A 3-of-15 performance on 3rd downs and a QB Dak Prescott hand injury were sour notes coming out of the loss.
Dallas has a lot of work to do, especially on offense, if they want to even have a chance to compete on Sunday. Cooper Rush will be the passer, and hopefully, he can do exactly what he did against the Minnesota Vikings last year. On the other hand, the Bengals will be looking to redeem themselves after a mediocre season-opening performance.
On the other side, the Bengals QB Joe Burrow was sacked seven times, threw four interceptions, and fumbled the ball against one of the worst teams he’s faced in his tenure with Cincinnati. He even threw a pick-six on his first pass attempt of 2022.
The problem for the Cowboys is that the Bengals are far more resilient than and they have weapons the Cowboys clearly don’t. The Dallas defense, as always, will keep this team in this game, but it won’t be nearly enough for an offense that was struggling mightily long before Prescott went down.
