By the time these teams meet again in Week 15, a lot will have changed, but in Week 1 the Panthers will still be getting used to Young and the other offseason additions.
Chicago Bears – 7.5 Wins
The fact that the Bears would be facing an unproven quarterback in Week 1 (Jordan Love of the Packers) boosted their odds of winning, just as it did for the Falcons. It’s not meant as an insult, but research shows that experience matters, and Love will be making just his second NFL start in the season opener in Chicago.
Detroit Lions – 9.5 Wins
The Lions have a tough start to the season, with games against the Chiefs in the season opener, the Seahawks at home in week two, the Falcons and Panthers, two rising teams, in weeks three and five, respectively, and the Ravens in week seven.
