Game Preview

This Sunday’s NFL schedule features a matchup between the New Orleans Saints and the Tennessee Titans. The Titans compete in the AFC South and last year finished second despite having a relatively low victory total (7-16). The Titans finished their preseason schedule with a 2-1 record.

The Saints of New Orleans are often considered to be the best team in the NFC South. They tied for second place with two other teams last year. Only seven of their games were won. The Saints started the NFL preseason undefeated. This is shaping up to be one of the week’s top NFL matches.

The Titans are not without Derrick Henry just yet. Henry finished last season as a top back thanks to his 1,538 rushing yards and 13 scores. The Titans won 16 of their 17 games with Henry on the field. Only Dontrell Hilliard received carries out of the backfield for the Titans this year, and he finished with 22.

Treylon Burks, Chigoziem Okonkwo, and Robert Woods have all returned to the Titans’ offensive line. Those three players had over 1,400 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns last season, according to NFL player data. But the Titans’ addition of DeAndre Hopkins to their offense is the most notable change. Ryan Tannehill will be in serious danger from Hopkins. He’ll start the season off in the starting lineup, but Malik Willis and maybe even Will Levis will see action this year.

People in New Orleans are optimistic about the Saints’ chances of making the playoffs because of head coach Dennis Allen. This is especially true in the NFC South. Derek Carr is now the starting quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. His whole career has been spent with the Raiders, but now he’ll be in charge of the Saints’ offense.

Chris Olave and Michael Thomas are starting to become a really dangerous receiving duo. Olave had a fantastic debut season, gaining more than one thousand yards according to NFL team statistics. Thomas missed much of the season due to injury and suspension, but his track record in the league suggests he has what it takes to have another outstanding year.
