Additionally, the Bears now have Montez Sweat to exert outside pressure on Young. Two weeks ago, Sweat was acquired by Chicago for a second-round selection, and the team later signed him to a $98 million, four-year contract deal.
Tyson Bagent, who took Justin Fields’ place, has performed poorly in the last two games, tossing two touchdown passes against five interceptions. He had a season-high three interceptions the previous weekend against New Orleans in addition to a lost fumble.
When these two teams last faced up, in 2020, the Bears triumphed 23-16 at Carolina. Now in 2023 they both have rookie quarterbacks who have each recently finished with three interceptions and they will start for both teams.
