On Sunday, the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers square off at Levi’s Stadium. The game between Arizona and Dallas just ended, and the Cardinals shocked with a dominant performance in the game. Meanwhile, San Francisco improved to 3-0 on the season with an 18-point victory over the Giants last Thursday.
Although they had a rough start, the Cardinals were competitive in their first few games. A 10-0 fourth-quarter deficit contributed to a 20-16 loss against the Commanders in the season opener. The second game was also a loss, this time by a score of 31–28 to the Giants. Once again, Arizona’s fourth quarter deficit in the game was 17 points.
On Sunday, Arizona handed Dallas its first loss of the season, a 28-16 rout, after taking a 21-10 halftime lead. The Cardinals’ Joshua Dobbs rushed for 189 yards and a touchdown. Michael Wilson caught two passes for 86 yards, and James Conner rushed for an additional 98 yards and a touchdown.
Arizona played admirably in their last game against the Cowboys, causing an upset with 222 yards rushing, zero turnovers, and 7.5 yards per play.
The 49ers, on the other hand, are off to a great start this season, boasting a perfect 3-0 record. The 49ers beat the Steelers 30-7 in their season opener, helped in large part by the fact that they scored 20 points before halftime. The second matchup between the 49ers and the Rams was a considerably closer affair than the first, with both teams scoring in each quarter for a final score of 30-23.
The 49ers scored in each quarter of their game last Thursday against the Giants. In a 30-12 triumph, San Francisco built a 13-6 second-half lead. Christian McCaffrey rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, and quarterback Brock Purdy threw for 310 yards and two scores. On top of that, Deebo Samuel caught six passes for 129 yards and a touchdown.
San Francisco’s defense played exceptionally well in their last game against the Giants, allowing only 150 total yards (121 passing), 10 first downs, and 3 of 12 on third down conversions. The 49ers will be fresh and ready to go after getting some extra time off.
