Los Angeles and Cincinnati tied 6-6 at halftime on Monday, but the Bengals outscored the Rams 13-10 in the second half en route to a 19-16 victory. This time, Stafford could only muster 102 yards and an interception, and the rushing attack was led by one 22-yard effort from Tutu Atwell. With a single catch for 37 yards, Atwell led all receivers.
The Colts opened their season against their divisional foe, the Jaguars. With a 21-17 advantage entering the final period, Indianapolis ultimately fell short in a 31-21 defeat. In the rematch against the Texans, the Colts fared significantly better. With a 28-10 advantage at the break, Indianapolis cruised to a 31-20 triumph.
The Colts trailed the Ravens, 14-13, heading into the fourth quarter on Sunday. Six more points from Indianapolis led to overtime, which they won 22-19. Gardner Minshew threw for 227 yards and a touchdown while Zack Moss paced the ground game with 122 yards on 30 attempts. Michael Pittman gained an extra 77 yards in receptions.
It’s early to tell what this Indianapolis club is made of, but they did just pull off a gutsy victory over the Baltimore Ravens. The Colts won that game 327-188, had 19 first downs, possessed the ball for 36 minutes and 33 seconds, and committed no turnovers.
However, Indianapolis only converted eight of twenty-two (33.3%) third-down opportunities and averaged only 3.9 yards per play. However, if the Colts can muster another strong defensive performance, they will be in excellent shape.
