On Sunday October 15th, the New York Jets will face the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford N.J.
The undefeated NFC Champions Eagles will try to beat a team that has performed well without Aaron Rodgers. They have been playing lights out with quarterback Jalen Hurts, as he already has 1262 passing yards, 6 touchdowns and a completion percentage of 67.3%. He has been throwing well to star wide receiver A.J Brown where last game Brown collected 127 yards on 6 receptions for an average of 21.2 yards per reception and he has a total of 541 yards in the season. As a defense they are now ranked 27th in the NFL in allowing yards through the air after giving up 1,238 yards. But as an overall defense they rank 13th by giving up only 20.8 points per game.
On the other hand, the New York Jets are coming off a win against the Denver Broncos and even when losing, they showed that they can play effectively against good teams as they had a great outing against the Kansas City Chiefs. With a 2-3 record they rank 32nd and 27th out of all NFL teams with an average of 160.4 passing yards per game and 283.6 yards per game respectively. Despite this they believe they are a strong team as running back Breece Hall had a breakthrough game with 177 yards on 22 attempts, averaging 8.0 yards per rush and 1 touchdown. They also had tight end Tyler Conklin receive 67 yards on 4 receptions, which was much needed as star wide receiver Garret Wilson has been held to 114 air yards through 2 games.
Even when playing against an inferior Jets passing offense, the Eagles secondary is still a concern that needs to be addressed and the Jets defense hasn’t fully lived up to expectations, but that side of the field still possesses a ton of playmakers.
