The Giants will compete against a top squad in prime time once more. They will go to Orchard Park, New York, this time to face the tough Buffalo Bills. The Giants fell to 1-4 at the expense of the Miami Dolphins this past weekend, whereas the fatigued Bills suffered a defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Both squads are coming off of tough defeats.
The Giants are one of the teams this season that are already in danger. The current campaign appears to be a regression to the norm following an encouraging campaign last year, as the team is currently 1-4 and playing behind newly acquired franchise QB Daniel Jones, who has struggled since accepting his $160 million contract.
Saquon Barkley’s injury hasn’t helped matters either, as they rank bottom in both total yards per game as well as points per game. While Jones appears to be carrying the bulk of the offensive burden, his offensive line has not offered any assistance. After sustaining an injury to his neck in Week 5, Jones has been sacked 30 times this season, particularly 18 times in both of his most recent games, making his availability for Sunday night’s game dubious.
When the Bills lost 25-20 against the Jacksonville Jaguars the previous weekend in London, it wasn’t just the game that was lost. Matt Milano, a star linebacker, may miss the entire season due to a leg injury. In a 25-20 loss against Jacksonville, Buffalo appeared to be playing behind and committed an unusual number of unforced errors. The Bills were penalized 11 times last week, which was the most since they fell to the Jaguars 9-6 in 2021.
With 2 touchdowns in the final quarter of play, the Buffalo offense seemed to have found something in the closing minutes of the contest. Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, and company have rediscovered their rhythm; the Giants defense must now figure out how to slow down the attack. The Bills are a club with Super Bowl aspirations, so this game against a team that is now struggling to stay afloat is a must-win for them.
