The NFL has a fantastic Week 1 matchup on Sunday, as the Bengals will play the Browns in Cleveland. The Cincinnati Bengals had a rough preseason, going 0-2. The Bengals went through the preseason without a victory, as did four other teams. The Bengals, on the other hand, just had a season in which they went 12-4 and won the AFC North division.
The Bengals beat the Ravens in the divisional round and the Bills in the divisional round, but they lost the AFC championship game against the Chiefs by a score of 23-20. In the preseason, Cleveland had a record of 1-2-1.
The Browns had a 7-10 record last year, good for last place in the AFC North in the National Football League. In 2023, the Browns anticipate improving their record thanks to the steady play of quarterback DeShaun Watson for a complete season and a solid defensive effort.
The status of Joe Burrow’s health is the league’s biggest unknown. One of the leading contenders for NFL MVP in the preseason, Burrow has spent much of the summer on the NFL Injury report. Many are wondering how he will recover after missing nearly a month due to an early injury.
Ja’Marr Chase’s NFL stats would take a hit without Burrow. With 1,046 receiving yards last year, Chase was a top wideout in the NFL. The Bengals were second-to-last in throwing yards among NFL teams. Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are also capable of making spectacular catches alongside Chase.
The roster for the Cleveland Browns has been upgraded from the previous season, and they are now prepared to compete. It’s possible that this is the week’s most exciting NFL matchup. The team’s expectations have increased to 17 games with DeShaun Watson’s comeback.
Last year, with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback for the Browns, the passing game sputtered. Even though Cleveland scored 19 total touchdowns, seven of those came in the final six games with Watson at quarterback.
