In Week 2 of the NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs visit the Jacksonville Jaguars. Sunday’s game will take place at Jacksonville, Florida’s TIAA Bank Field. This is a replay of a thrilling Divisional Round game from last season. It was a close game, but the Chiefs ultimately prevailed and went on to win the Super Bowl. On Thursday Night Football during Week 1, the Chiefs lost 21-20 to the Detroit Lions. Patrick Mahomes was only 21-of-39 passing because he missed so many open receivers. The Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence won Week 1 despite letting the Colts linger around for too long, 31-21. With 24 completions in 32 attempts, Lawrence threw for 241 yards, two scores, and an interception. With 101 receiving yards, Calvin Ridley made a statement in his NFL return, and Travis Etienne added 77 rushing yards and 27 receiving yards.
The Jaguars gave the Chiefs a tough game last year, and with Kansas City coming to town, Jacksonville should be able to make things competitive once again. The Jaguars’ offense was far more efficient and made less mistakes than the Chiefs’ offense did in Week 1.
The Chiefs have won eight straight games and seven in a row. In their most recent triumph, a 27-20 AFC Divisional home victory, the Jaguars covered a 10-point spread despite being underdogs. The Chiefs won the regular season matchup 27-17 despite being 10-point underdogs at home. In both games, the total went under, making the Under 5-1 in the last six encounters dating back to 2013.
