Manchester City are used to teams being highly motivated to play them, so their trip to Sheffield United will be seen as another early season litmus test. Despite this, Pep Guardiola’s squad has won their last five matches against Sheffield in a row without losing a single one.
The Citizens also got off to a winning start in their Premier League championship defense with a 3-0 road victory over newly-promoted Burnley. Man City have won 12 of their previous 20 league games on the road despite finishing their 2022/23 Premier League season with an away draw against Brighton and a loss to Brentford. In fact, no other side in the English Premier League has accumulated more away points (40) since the beginning of the previous season.
