Winning their game against Napoli would’ve meant that they could still have a chance at getting out of the relegation zone, but it didn’t happen. Before meeting Napoli, Genoa scored a win in their books over 4th-place Juventus, and that definitely gave them hope, although in the end, it didn’t matter.
Blessin’s side have a good recent record against Bologna, picking up four wins and three draws from the pair’s last seven Serie A encounters, and if we take into consideration that Bologna hasn’t been performing that great recently, Genoa can still hope to finish the season with a win in their books. A draw is at least expected from Genoa as that’s the result they obtained the last time they faced Bologna back in September.
This was Genoa’s 14th season in a row playing in Serie A, after spending over 11 years playing in the 2nd and 3rd division. Now they’ll have to rethink their plans and figure out how to get themselves back into the first division. This match might not mean much for the Serie A standings, so we can expect these two teams to have some fun in the field and maybe see a lot of goals throughout the game
