As soon as the UFC releases a fight card, fans are excited to see which fighters have been added. Recently, this excitement extended to women’s strawweight battle between Jessica Andrade and Mackenzie Dern; Andrade will look to come off three straight losses this year with this bout versus Dern who recently defeated Angela Hill and looks to further her ascent within the division. The battle is scheduled to take place on November 11th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Andrade has quickly established herself as one of the premier women’s strawweight fighters, boasting an impressive 13-3 record and currently sitting in seventh place in the rankings. Mackenzie Dern is another top-10 contender in her division with a similar fighting style and fighting ability as Andrade. A powerful striker with an efficient ground game, Dern recently defeated Angela Hill via unanimous decision in her last bout and earned herself a Fight of the Night bonus for that performance.
Both fighters have experienced some challenges in their personal lives in recent months, both divorcing. At UFC 295 media day they opened up about this matter but remain hopeful they can use these issues as fuel for an entertaining fight on Saturday night.
