The Philadelphia Phillies will try to wrap up their three-game series against the Miami Marlins with a clean sweep at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies won the first two games, 3-2 on Tuesday and 4-3 on Wednesday. The Phillies have won 10 of the 15 head-to-head games so far this season. Alcantara holds a 12-7 record with a 2.36 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP over 190.2 innings pitched while striking out 170.
On the other side, the Phillies have much more to play for than the Marlins. Entering today, Philly is currently tied with the Padres as the final teams to get into the MLB Wild Card. The Brewers are four games behind. To try and secure a Wild Card spot, Kyle Gibson will make the start for the Phillies. He has undoubtedly been brilliant at times but also terrible at times. At home, Gibson is 7-3 with a 3.71 ERA, which should give him enough confidence to perform well today.
