Game Preview

The Toronto Blue Jays will take on the Los Angeles Angels for a second time in their four-game series at Angel Stadium. Yesterday, the Blue Jays took over the game from a very early point, right now Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is on a two-game home run streak, and today he’ll be looking to extend that streak. Shohei Otani didn’t look that great on the mound yesterday, as he was the one that gave up the leadoff home run to Guerrero Jr in the Blue Jays’ 6-3 victory.

Chase Silseth will open up the game as the starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels, making this his 3rd start of the season. Silseth is on a 1-1 record and carries a 2.61 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP over 10⅓ innings pitched. The last time we saw Silseth appear on the mound was on Friday against the Oakland Athletics, when he picked up the loss after allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks in 4⅓ innings. Compared to his first start in the season, Silseth didn’t fare well, but today he’ll try to turn things around for the Angels.

The Toronto Blue Jays clearly want to score a win in their books today, that’s why they’ll send out one of their best pitchers in their lineup today. Alek Manoah holds a 5-1 record with a 1.62 ERA and an impressive 0.88 WHIP over 50 innings. He picked up the win against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday, when he allowed only one run on 7 hits throughout 8 innings, he struck out 4 and didn’t issue a single walk. Manoah has been one of the best pitchers in the league this season, and today he’ll make his 9th start where he’ll try to pick up his 6th win.
