On Saturday, college football action moves to UB Stadium for a matchup between the Liberty Flames and the Buffalo Bulls. The most recent game for the Flames was against New Mexico State. The Flames romped to a 16-point victory in that game. Buffalo’s second contest was against Fordham. Ultimately, the Bulls would lose a nail-biter.

Treon Sibley led the receivers with 56 yards on three catches, and quarterback Kaidon Salter threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns. The Flames’ second quarter performance against New Mexico State was crucial to their eventual 33-17 victory. Salter accounted for 276 yards and two touchdowns through the air, and Quinton Cooley ran for 106 yards on 20 carries. This time around, CJ Daniels had the most receptions (four) and the most receiving yards (129) and a touchdown.

The Bulls’ season opener against Wisconsin was a challenging matchup. Despite a strong first half, in which they trailed only 14-10, Buffalo ultimately fell short and was defeated 38-17. Mike Washington led the team in rushing with 52 yards on 12 carries, and Cole Snyder threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

Last weekend, Buffalo faced Fordham in a football game, and despite holding a 30-26 lead entering the fourth quarter, they ultimately lost by a score of 40-37. In the loss, Snyder threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns, and Washington rushed for 57 yards and two scores to lead the team. With seven receptions, Marlyn Johnson gained 105 yards and scored twice.
