The Los Angeles Rams host the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles in this NFC showdown at the SoFi Stadium. Coming into week 5, the Eagles have shown nothing but great resilience and power. The Philadelphia team is one of the only two rosters in the league that remains undefeated in the 23/24 NFL Season, the other being the San Diego 49ers. The Rams, on the other hand, have had lapses in performance in the 4 games they’ve played so far and books have them as quite the underdogs coming into the weekend.
Last Sunday, the Rams had a great opener against the Indianapolis Colts, ending the first half with a 20-0 score. However, the Colts put up an impressive comeback, managing to take the game to an overtime and pushing the Rams to win 29-23 after sweating bullets for two quarters straight. The only other win the Rams have managed was their week 1 game against the Seahawks in which they started slow but managed to score 23 points in the second half while keeping Seattle from scoring at all.
Similarly to the Rams, the Eagles also had a close game last weekend. The Washington Commanders managed to take the game to overtime in which the Eagles won, keeping their now 4-game winning streak. Despite being on the road at Inglewood, Philadelphia is a heavy favorite for a good reason. The Eagles smashed the Buccs back in September and put on a great show against the Vikings and Patriots for their first two matches of the season. With other NFC teams looking strong, it’s in the Eagles best interest to keep their momentum going and stay atop the NFC standings. The Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions are all 4-1 in the season so far and looking for an opportunity to pounce.
