The Los Angeles Chargers and the Tennessee Titans are scheduled to play each other on Sunday in one of the National Football League games. Both sides are looking for their first victory of the 2023 campaign.
The Chargers lost a nail-biter at home to the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. The high-scoring Dolphins offense scored 36 points against the Chargers. The Titans’ performance was marked by a lack of scoring. The Titans lost 16-15 in overtime in New Orleans. Tennessee’s opening-game loss makes them one of three AFC South cellar dwellers.
It was not Justin Herbert or the offense’s fault that they lost on Sunday. The Chargers came close, scoring 34 points but falling short by 2. Keenan Allen caught 76 of Herbert’s passes for 76 percent of the total (228 yards). Allen ended the game with six receptions but no touchdowns.
Austin Ekeler, who was a preseason favorite for NFL MVP, led the Chargers in rushing with 16 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown. Mike Williams was unable to finish the game, but he had four catches for 45 yards before being lost to the Chargers.
Throughout the entire game, the Chargers’ defense was unable to sack Tua Tagovailoa. The Los Angeles Chargers were aware that they had a good first game despite losing.
Derrick Henry is the first name that comes up when discussing the Tennessee Titans. Henry started off well but was unable to maintain his performance, ending his NFL career with 15 carries for 63 yards.
Ryan Tannehill is the second name mentioned. He was a bad guy. He was only 16-for-34 passing for 198 yards and three picks. DeAndre Hopkins is the new moniker. The Titans’ rookie wideout topped the team with seven catches and 65 receiving yards.
Titans’ new running back Tyjae Spears was already given a significant amount of work. As the season progresses, his role will become more defined. Tennessee hosts this game and then travels to Ohio for two consecutive games.
In Week 3, Tennessee travels to face the Browns, and in Week 4, Tennessee welcomes the Cincinnati Bengals to Nissan Stadium. The Tennessee Titans have a few promising running backs, so their games should be exciting to watch.
