Serie A Top 4

The 2022–2023 season was Napoli’s first Serie A championship since the Diego Maradona era. Despite losing several starters in the offseason, they still managed to win the championship. This just goes to show you that literally anything can happen in European soccer. Napoli are favorites to retain the Scudetto this season, but they will face strong clubs. Let’s take a look at the teams expected to make noise in Serie A this year.

Juventus (-190)

Juventus has had more overall success than any other Italian club. They hold the record for most Serie A titles with 36, but haven’t won in three years. They won nine consecutive titles from 2011-12 to 2019-20, but they aren’t even qualified for the Champions League this season.

Thankfully, that has nothing to do with how they’ve performed on the field. If not for losing 10 points due to questionable transfer dealings, they would have finished in fourth place. They finished eighth instead, relegating them to the UEFA Europa Conference League for the upcoming season.

AC Milan (-150)

The ten-point reduction that Juve received benefited AC Milan directly. Milan were promoted to fourth place and will now participate in the UEFA Champions League instead of the Europa League this season.

They have already completed a deal for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, a defensive midfielder, and Christian Pulisic, a winger. AC Milan have quality players like Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud. Earlier this summer, they did, however, lose Sandro Tonali to Newcastle.

Roma (+120)

Jose Mourinho has already strengthened his AS Roma roster for the next season. The Giallorossi signed offensive midfielder Houssem Aouar and defensive back Evan N’Dicka to free transfers. Despite finishing sixth last season, oddsmakers think Roma will place in the top four in 2023–24 at +120. But it’s been over 20 years since they last won the Scudetto.

Atalanta (+200)

Over the past few years, Atalanta have established themselves as one of Italy’s best clubs. They’ve earned a rep as a selling club, and their star scorer Rasmus Hojlund already left for Manchester United this summer.
