Gilbert Urbina will take on Charles Radtke at UFC Fight Night, providing an intriguing matchup in the welterweight division. Urbina should provide an effective counterbalance to Radtke’s superior wrestling skills.
Urbina scored a second round TKO victory against Orion Cosce last May, showing his takedown defense and excellent clinch game as well as being an aggressive Middleweight capable of pushing the pace offensively. Furthermore, Urbina has demonstrated his ability to finish fights on foot. Urbina has improved every time he performed and his abilities have greatly increased during his time on the show, even though he was unable to defeat Gore or Battle. In his most recent bout, Urbina defeated a formidable veteran by dominating the striking game. Urbina’s front kick to the body concluded the fight.
Charles Radtke is an impressive grappler who has shown an ability to fend off submission attempts while being an effective striker who can land powerful strikes with ease and remain tough enough. Radtke needs some work on his game though; I predict that Urbina will prove too tough an opponent for him.
Radtke displays decent striking accuracy but allows significant strikes to land against him at 4.09 per minute and only manages to defend against 47% of them at distance. Radtke is a very difficult fighter to put away since he has excellent pop behind his punches and has never been submitted in his professional career. He will, however, have a tiny experience disadvantage because his opponent has competed against far tougher opponents throughout their careers.
Both fighters possess the potential to finish this fight quickly, promising an entertaining contest. Urbina may take an early advantage with size and strength advantage over Radtke; however, Radtke must rely on his wrestling and clinch game in order to remain in contention and survive this bout. It’s expected both will utilize their respective strengths effectively in an engaging contest that should keep audiences entertained until its conclusion.
