Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama will host the 68 Ventures Bowl between South Alabama and Eastern Michigan on December 23.
The Jaguars are the official road team in this game, despite the fact that it is being played in the home stadium of South Alabama. But they will undoubtedly benefit from the larger crowd. The Jaguars are a little better than average as they averaged 30.9 points versus NCAAF teams that gave up 29 points all season. The Jaguars can move the ball because they can throw for 264.9 yards per game and rush for 160 yards per game. South Alabama ran for more than 190 yards in each of its six victories. The Jaguars’ defense gave up 21.9 points to opponents who were averaging 26.5 points. While the pass defense was marginally below average, the run defense gave up just 3.3 yards per rush.

Eastern Michigan did well to score as many points as it did, considering that it amounted to just 272 total yards per game. Although not excellent, the defense wasn’t awful either. Despite their opponents’ season average of just 22.5 points, the Eagles permitted 24 points per game. Squads with an average of 4.2 yards per rush were able to get 4.5 yards per rush from Eastern Michigan. The pass defense did not perform any better, giving up 7.0 yards per attempt from opponents who were averaging 6.4 yards per attempt.
