NCAAF Season 2023/2024 Futures: Division & Conference Winners

August 16, 2023

Division & Conference Winners

Winning a conference championship will always be a cause for celebration, no matter what the finals format of college football looks like. Taking home the championship title this season sets the tone for future seasons. The College Football Playoff will be expanded to include all champions from the major conferences.

That said, the payoff may not be as great in 2023. The winners, however, won’t let that stop them from showing off their trophy. Let’s look at some conference winners in the making.

ACC – Florida State +160

Due to the elimination of divisions in the ACC in 2023, Florida State will no longer have to play Clemson in order to reach the ACC title game. The ‘Noles have one of the highest rates of returning production of any team in the country, ranking in the top five from the previous year. This Florida State team hasn’t been this ready to win the ACC since the Jimbo Fisher era, and it could be their last.

Big Ten – Michigan +180

Is Ohio State capable of reclaiming the Big Ten? Likely not. Michigan has the sixth-highest output in the country, and its quarterback JJ McCarthy, as well as their whole coaching staff, the top running back room in the country, a terrific offensive line, and the most production of any team in the country, are all returning this season.

SEC – Georgia -110

Surprising. Georgia, as the defending champion, has enormous goals set for 2023. Kirby Smart will always figure out a way to play on the determination of the underdog. The bigger question is which SEC West team will emerge as Georgia’s main competition. Ole Miss and Texas A&M follow Alabama and LSU on the list of likely contenders.

Mountain West – Fresno State +380

It’s not easy to fill the shoes of a Pro Bowl quarterback, a 1,000-yard rusher, and four of your top five receivers from the previous season. Fresno State, however, plays a very serious kind of football on defense. Mikey Keene, a transfer from UCF, takes over as the starting quarterback for the Bulldogs, who have one of the 15 easiest schedules in the country.
