This upcoming weekend presents a significant conference matchup within the Pac-12, featuring two rated teams. One of these teams was anticipated to reach this stage, while the other has surprised observers with their performance in the first three games, now holding the No. 10 ranking.
The University of Oregon will host the 19th-ranked University of Colorado in a college football matchup during Week 4 of the season, taking place on Saturday.
Both teams are coming off very different Week 3 victories, setting up a very intriguing matchup. Oregon easily dispatched Hawaii, 55-10, while Colorado edged in-state rival Colorado State, 43-35, after two tense overtimes.
Oregon has a 15-9 advantage in the overall series record. Oregon triumphed 49-10 in Boulder in 2016. Three straight wins for the Ducks dating back to 2019 may not be indicative of the Buffaloes’ chances today. For the time being, Vegas favors Oregon by a wide margin.
Colorado’s 3-0 start is light years ahead of what anyone predicted before the season began, thanks in large part to the play of quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who has thrown for 1,251 yards and 10 touchdowns against only one interception. While recovering from injury, star defensive back and all-around player Travis Hunter won’t be able to play for the Buffaloes in this game and perhaps two more.
Oregon’s offense, headed by quarterback Bo Nix, who has completed 77% of his passes for 8 touchdowns and 0 interceptions, and the rushing attack, which has averaged 7.2 yards per touch with 11 touchdowns so far, should present Colorado’s hardest test to date.
The oddsmakers have released the opening lines for the highly anticipated game. There was an early 21 point spread favoring Oregon over Colorado. Both teams are ranked, but the Ducks have a significant advantage in the betting odds this week.
