Paddy Donovan Analysis: He’s coming off a big win
Following a TKO victory against William Andres Herrera (15-2) in his most recent bout on January 27, Donovan, a 25-year-old fighter from Limerick, where Lee is originally from, will make his second defense of the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental Welterweight Champion title. The career of fighter Paddy Donovan has undoubtedly been progressing. It is believed that The Real Deal will become a British boxing sensation in the future. He can already brag of a WBA continental title and a winning streak of thirteen fights. Naturally, he aspires to much greater things. The 25-year-old wants a world title, and if he defeats Ritson in his upcoming fight, he will be one step closer to a welterweight title matchup with contenders like Terence Crawford and Jaron Ennis.
Lewis Ritson Analysis: Former Super Lightweight Champion
Lewis Ritson, who lost to Ohara Davies in the knockout stage of the competition last year, will want to get back on track. Ritson is a former super lightweight intercontinental champion of the WBA. In order to leave his mark in the upper class, he will challenge the emerging welterweight star to new heights. In 2019, Ritson changed to the light welterweight/super lightweight class following his unsuccessful effort to win the vacant European lightweight title. He defeated German Argentino Benitez via unanimous decision to instantly earn the WBA Intercontinental Super Lightweight Title. The Sandman had to give up the championship before fighting Miguel Vazquez to win it back in 2020. His second championship run was short-lived, though, as in his very next bout, he was defeated by TKO by Jeremias Ponce.
