On September 3rd, the Camping World Stadium will host an extraordinary NCAAF matchup between LSU Tigers and Florida State Seminoles that could prove pivotal for both programs’ hopes of returning to the forefront of college football – as well as one of the most enjoyable contests on their schedules this season.
For the first time perhaps since 2018, Florida State football enters the upcoming campaign with ambitious goals that, at a minimum, center around making it back to the ACC Championship contest, an achievement not witnessed in Tallahassee since 2014.
Both teams come into this season with high hopes, as the Tigers were victorious at last season’s end and looked poised to challenge for national glory again in 2023. A win in this game could set either team on their journey toward success and could determine who makes an appearance in next February’s College Football Playoff race.
Both teams boast stellar quarterbacks, but it will likely come down to running games to decide this matchup. If the Tigers’ running game proves effective, it may ease some pressure off quarterback Jayden Daniels and allow him to make more big plays through the air.
FSU features an effective running attack. Jordan Travis, an all-purpose quarterback who also runs well for FSU, should cause havoc against an LSU defense which struggled on third downs last season.
This game promises an intense defensive contest between two powerful front sevens that both look to produce early in the contest, so whoever can make more crucial stops could emerge victorious in this contest.
Starting lineups will be an intriguing factor in this game for both sides, though Brian Kelly may opt to use his more experienced players at quarterback and on the offensive line. But to maximize results from their passing attack, keeping their running game on track is critical to making big plays with their passing attack; otherwise it will put pressure on Daniels to deliver big plays to his receivers.
